A former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was at the head of a team of prominent politicians, including Nasir el-Rufai and Aminu Tambuwal, who met with former President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
A statement by the Media Office of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 elections confirmed the visit.

The statement, issued on Friday, however, said the visit by Atiku; el-Rufai, a former two-term governor of Kaduna State; and Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, former governor of Sokoto State, and now a senator, was part of the Eid-el-Fitr visit to Buhari.
